Her legal services are offered directly and her consulting services are offered through WiredTrust, her risk management consulting firm.
Parry's COPPA compliance services are especially in demand. She helped in the COPPA-writing process and began advising clients on COPPA immediately upon its becoming effective in October 1998. She is best known for thinking outside of the box to help clients meet their needs while complying with the law and safety at the same time.
During a recent COPPA event hosted by the FTC on June 2, 2010 someone from the audience said that he advises clients to only use the methods of verification listed in the rules. He feared that anything else would subject them to liability. That's sad for him and for his clients. Clients can read the exact language of the rules and the law. Privacy professionals are supposed to help them comply with the law and still meet their needs, business models and be flexible enough. Parry does that.
